The Corporate Tax Awards is a unique annual contest jointly established by PwC and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) in 2016. The awards identify and promote best practices in taxation, recognise the professional successes of tax leaders and bring together high-level tax experts in a collaborative community.
In 2018, awards will be granted in the following categories:
- Tax Team of the Year
- Tax Project of the Year
- Tax Leader of the Year
This year, the contest coincides with the In-house Tax Function Benchmarking Survey, a research project on corporate tax processes. Participants in this project will later receive the statistical results from the survey.

The Polycon Journey — Practical International Tax Planning Master Class

The Polycon journey was the basis of a leading international tax reference book for 30 years, International Tax Systems and Planning Techniques, as well as the MA course in international tax law at the University of London for the past 5 years. The workshop starts with an explanation of an entrepreneur’s invention developed by the manufacturing entity, the company's overseas expansion with warehousing facilities, representative offices and then sales subsidiaries, corporate acquisitions made to expand the global reach of the company followed by an IPO as the company’s financial requirements dictate for its future growth. The appropriate holding company regimes, along with financing and licensing techniques are examined along with investment vehicles for real estate and other fringe activities, with the final stage being the creation of a private equity fund under the newly branded Eyemax umbrella.
